T-Shirt Upholstery: Swedish eco designer (and mega babe) Maria Westerberg won first prize at the 2011 Green Furniture Awards for the T-shirt Chair, made of recycled textiles and bent wire fence. Fall Back, Portland: According to transportation data mined by FindtheBest, the greenest commuters in America live in Ithaca, NY, where 41.8 percent of commuters walk to work, and Isla Vista, Calif., where almost a quarter of workers bike to work. Check out all the stats at Grist.

Euro Efficiency: The EU continues to lay out lofty goals for emissions and energy efficiency. The latest plan calls for an 80 percent reduction in emissions by 2050.
