What's not to love about Emeco? Founded in 1944 as a maker of chairs for the Navy, the Pennsylvania company still makes the same chairs at its original US factory using the same process. The sturdy, attractive chairs are said to last 150 years, and as of a few years ago, they are all made from 80 percent recycled aluminum. These stacking chairs belong to Emeco's "Nine-0" series, designed by the late Italian designer Ettore Sottsass, who reenvisioned the classic Navy chair for the 21st century, with a variety of color and backing options. They ain't cheap, but they sure are sweet.
