If there was ever a bike accessory in desperate need of innovation, it is the bike bell, which is usually either oversized and clunky or undersized and dinky (and almost always cheaply made). San Francisco's Spurcycle is answering the call with the US-made Ringer Bell, a compact, precisely-crafted component that produces a powerful, crisp sound. Launched as a Kickstarter project on August 7th, the Ringer Bell promptly sailed past its $20K funding goal and hit six figures within a week. Needless to say, the demand is there. A $35 pledge gets you a raw-finished bell, while $45 lands you one in stealth black. Shipping is free in the US.
