Skating the Sierras
Brandon Rein and his buddies added a new dimension to their backcountry excursion to the mountains south of Lake Tahoe. Along with the customary fly rods, bed rolls and tents, the crew brought their shred sticks in search of “that super old skatepark deep in the Sierras.” Miles from any actual pavement or civilization, they discovered a sweet little skate spot in the form of a smooth prehistoric surface on an elevated rock ridge. In the Vimeo comments a guy named Thad spills the beans on the spot, explaining that the crew are “…hiking up from Fallen Leaf Lake up towards Angora Lake. The big mountain they pass at the beginning is Tallac.”
