The Perennial Plate: Carolina Gold

In Carolina Gold, a new episode of the excellent sustainable food series The Perennial Plate, we get a fascinating look at a renaissance in Southern cooking, with heirloom grains playing a starring role. Glenn Roberts of Anson Mills is leading the heritage food movement in South Carolina, supplying chefs like Sean Brock of Husk and McCrady’s in Charleston. After filming Roberts at the Anson Mills farm, The Perennial Plate’s Daniel Klein teamed up with Brock to create an 8-course tasting menu showcasing the heirloom grains that are so central to Southern cuisine.
