All in for the 99%: Artists, Musicians and Activists Unite in Los Angeles

Forget what you heard about the Occupy movement being dead. If last Saturday’s All in for the 99% event is any indication, there’s plenty of life left yet.

The arts and music festival on South La Brea Avenue amplified the voices of the 99 percent with Funny or Die short film screenings, Slake magazine readings, a Van Jones talk, DJ sets, and an art exhibit featuring over a hundred artists including Neckface, Aaron Rose, Shepard Fairey and SWOON.

But maybe the coolest part was performed by the public, when people gathered in the parking lot to form a massive “99%,” which was photographed from above. A video of the act is being edited as we speak.

Later in the evening there were performances by Jack Black’s Tenacious D, Moby, and Fitz and the Tantrums, who performed to a packed house of over 1,000 partiers. Were any of our readers there? Let us know how it went in the comments.
