Camille Seaman: The Big Cloud

Acclaimed photographer Camille Seaman, best known for her award-winning works depicting polar icebergs, headed inland to the prairies of the Midwest to capture a different incredible natural phenomenon: thunderstorm clouds. For the latest entry into Seaman’s storm oeuvre, the artist traveled to western Nebraska, where, with the assistance of professional meteorologists, she followed the development of a massive supercell, documenting its formation over the course of several minutes. Simply stunning.

See more of the thundercloud photos at Seaman’s website. And definitely check out The Last Iceberg, her award-winning Arctic photo series, while you’re there. Similarly awesome.
