Fish House

The work of Singapore-based Guz Architects, who specialize in the design of tropical, eco-friendly buildings and homes, is informed by the firm's earth-focused philosophy. Fish House, designed last year for a seaside location in Singapore, is a nice expression of the company mission.

With a fluid structure that creates plenty of open space, encouraging natural ventilation and offering views to the ocean, the curvy bungalow is inspired by — and responsible to — its natural surroundings. More than just aesthetic symbolism, the wavelike roofs are almost totally covered with thin bendable photovoltaic panels (which supply 100% of the home's energy needs), with the remaining area used as a green roof.

All in all, a pretty exceptional combination of luxury and sustainability.
