Ironic Landscapes by Cook/Jenshel

Diane Cook and Len Jenshel, two of America’s most celebrated landscape photographers, shoot powerful images covering all types of environmental issues. Whether the subject is aquariums or green roofs, gardens or the NYC High Line, the husband and wife photo duo shoot in a signature style that combines a documentary and a fine-arts aesthetic.

The Cook/Jenshel collection that really caught our eye is the “Murals” series, which shows painted murals on buildings and vehicles, depicting idyllic landscapes, shot in a traditional landscape style. The photos, a few of which you can see in the first four pics above, offer an ironic, tongue-in-cheek comment on the practice of landscape photography. Pretty funny stuff.
