Last year, it was Lykke Li. This year, it's Kazu Makino. The Blonde Redhead singer, long admired for her eclectic fashion looks, is the newest musician-muse for Bodkin designer Eviana Hartman. For the multifaceted designer, an admitted fetishist of 90s minimalism, Makino was the perfect fit.
“[Makino] worked at the Comme des Garcons boutique in the 90s — it sounds like a fashion fantasy to me,†she said.
Based in New York, Bodkin is known for crafting collections from bigger brands' leftover materials. The upcoming collection emphasizes simple and unpretentious pieces made from organic cotton, a nice fit for Makino's easy style.
