Mind-Boggling Photos of Magnified Booze

Have you ever wondered what liquor looks like under a microscope? Neither have we. Couldn’t be that interesting, could it? Matter of fact, it could. The images above depict crystallized compounds of various drinks shot under a polarized light microscope. The resulting photos feature hallucinogenic washes of color and trippy patterns that could easily pass as abstract art. And indeed they do. The images come courtesy of BevShots, an art-meets-science business that creates and sells large abstract prints of all manner of beers, wines, cocktails and liquors.

From BevShots:

These high-quality photographs of your favorite beers, wines, cocktails, liquors, and mixers were taken after they were crytallized on a slide and shot under a polarized light microscope. As the light refracts through the beverage crystals, the resulting photos feature naturally magnificent colors and composition.
