Founded waaaay back in 1673, Chelsea Physic Garden is London’s oldest botanical garden, a place that today plays host to over 5,000 edible, useful, medicinal and historical plants. That, at least for garden nerds like us, is sufficient reason to visit the place. With Pertaining to Things Natural…, a big sculpture show currently underway on the garden’s grounds, London-goers have another good reason to roll through.
The exhibition is touted “as an opportunity to add to the environmental debate, offering fresh ideas to maintain the momentum of change.” That may sound a bit like curatorial claptrap, but some of the works (like Jo Coupe’s tiny piece of curled-up plants, made of poisonous lead) look pretty interesting.
