In the boggy region around Guerande, a medieval town on the Breton coast of northwest France, the seawater circulates inland via a vast network of canals and basins. When the tide retreats, the sun and wind work to evaporate the water, crystallizing the salt into maybe the most highly prized sea salt in the world: Fleur de Sel de Guérande.
Photographer Paul Morin visited Guerande and returned with these nicely composed shots of the salt marshes. Looking more than a little like abstract paintings, the photos present a beautiful look at this remarkable place.
