New York photographer Sean Lynch uses infrared film to render his surroundings in an unearthly manner. Using Kodak Ektachrome–a professional infrared film that was discontinued six years ago–Lynch transforms everyday views into surreal scenes, with hot pink plantlife popping out against icy blue skies. The above slideshow features images he shot since the fall in New York City, as well as upstate.
Lynch began experimenting with digital infrared photography five years ago, while travelling through South Asia. He then turned to film and began stockpiling Kodak Ektachrome, which he says is far more challenging.
