In Tierney Gearon‘s Shapes series, the model-turned-photographer captures figures enclosed in transluscent boxes in different settings around the world. For the multiyear project, which originally appeared in NYT Magazine (h/t Faith is Torment), she shipped sheets of colored Plexiglas to picturesque places like St. Barts and Telluride, where she assembled the structures before placing her kids, friends, and pets inside. The resulting photos deal with themes of confinement vs freedom, and carry on from Gearon’s revealing line of work using her family as subjects.
