We first came across William Rugen via his Western Dioramas series, a collection of photos of sweeping landscapes in the American West. That led us to Harbinger, an older Rugen Flickr set with a much different tone. Set in stark black-and-white, the photos offer ominous perspectives of Earth from land, water and sky. Oceanic flotsam, surburban landscapes, shadows of planes. What exactly they’re harbingers of, we can’t say. But they’re eerie and we’re scared.
