Astonishing Photos of Iceland by Jenny Harmsen

Judging by these photos from Jenny Harmsen, I guess we can add “Crazy Treeless Alien Landscapes” to our ever-growing list of reasons to visit Iceland. The otherworldly images were shot in 2011 along the Laugavegur, a famed, 34-mile trekking route in southwestern Iceland.

“The structure of Iceland’s landscape isn’t something you come across very often,” Jenny says. “It’s very spare and unassuming, not trying to convince you of anything. The preferences I have for every other aspect of my life are the same as the preferences I have for photographic subjects.”

Fair enough. View the rest of the series on Flickr.
