Much Better Now
Here’s a wonderful animated piece from Salon Alpin, a Portuguese visual production outfit which bills itself as a “Sustainable Storytelling Studio”. In the film, an old bookmark comes alive to discover that the book pages have morphed into perfectly surfable waves. The studio employed a variety of methods to make the film, from paper cutouts and stop-motion to 3D animation, yet they somehow manage to make the whole thing look smooth and fluid. This is DIY animated filmmaking at its finest.
