'Revolution' is a Stunning Stop-Motion Short

Just when we thought the stop-motion craze had lost steam, this one “popped up” (sorry, had to) and put that idea to bed. Using a clever pop-up book idea, “Revolution” tells the engaging story of a drop of water as it moves through the hydrologic cycle. The animation was a collaborative effort between photographer Chris Turner, illustrator and “paper engineer” Helen Friel (check out that portfolio, wow!), and animator Jess Deacon. A thousand photo stills and over a year later, and we have what will certainly be one of the best stop-motion shorts of the year.
