The Acid "Basic Instinct"

The Acid, a mysterious, multicontinential trio bent on creating genre-less music, have commissioned a special video for “Basic Instinct,” their first single which combines electronic beats with acoustic guitar and pitched vocals. The video, directed by Dugan O’Neal (of The Directors Bureau), stars Los Angeles dance troupe WIFE, who are captured jumping around in pink suits and wigs in the mountains of Malibu.

“I have always felt very connected to aesthetics in line with music—they are part of each other and the whole” explains Ry X, who makes up one-third of The Acid alongside Adam Freeland and Steve Nalepa. “When we came up with the idea for the video, we brought WIFE into the fold before all else.”

Look out for the The Acid’s self-titled debut EP, dropping April 14th.
